Jakarta, Indonesia, 22 May 2025 – Clearstream Fund Centre, KB Kookmin Bank, Bangkok Bank and BIDV were recognised for excellence in financial markets at the TAB Global Business Achievement Awards, held at the Ritz-Carlton Jakarta.

Best Financial Markets Technology Implementation in Asia Pacific

Clearstream Fund Centre and TCS won the award for Best Financial Markets Technology Implementation in Asia Pacific for establishing a platform that integrates custody, settlement, foreign exchange (FX), credit and reconciliation. The platform, which is hosted on Google Cloud and powered by TCS BaNCS for market infrastructure, supports modular operations covering client onboarding, cash management, securities settlement and regulatory reporting. It handles 54 markets, 49 currencies, over 57 million annual transactions, and $4.16 trillion (EUR 3.7 trillion) in assets under custody (AUC).

The cloud-native, microservices architecture of the platform overcomes traditional banking limitations through agility, scalability and real-time processing. By embedding regulatory compliance and operational resilience into the design, complex regulatory and risk requirements were also proactively addressed.

Best Custodian Bank in South Korea

KB Kookmin Bank was awarded Best Custodian Bank in South Korea for its leadership in custody services. The bank upgraded its custody systems, automated workflows, and strengthened risk management and compliance frameworks to ensure secure and efficient service. It also expanded value-added services, including corporate actions processing, proxy voting support, and environmental, social and governance (ESG) investment support.

Best Custodian Bank in Thailand

Bangkok Bank won the award for Best Custodian Bank in Thailand for its strong financial performance and operational excellence. The bank managed a significant portfolio in 2024, holding a 12% market share of AUC. By deploying dedicated relationship managers and the 24/7 Bualuang iCustody digital portal, it acquired 28% more fund contracts and achieved a 25% year-on-year increase in transaction volume.

By adopting AI-driven fraud detection, big data analytics and pilot GenAI tools, Bangkok Bank improved operational efficiency and security. Through a combination of market outperformance, client-centric digital solutions, and future-ready technology, the bank exemplified leadership in safeguarding assets and driving innovation in Thailand’s custody landscape.

Best Custodian Bank in Vietnam

Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) was recognised as Best Custodian Bank in Vietnam. The bank solidified its leading position by offering comprehensive services such as asset safekeeping, fund administration and cross-border investment support. It holds a 37% market share in AUC, managing 70 fund contracts and capturing 64% of new fund launches in 2024. Serving 461 institutional clients— including state-owned entities and global investors—BIDV enhances customer experience with tailored services like non-prefunding share purchases for foreign investors and collateral management for insurers.

The bank has fully integrated custody and supervisory systems, enabling end-to-end automation that cuts settlement times from T+2 to T+0 and improves efficiency. By combining market dominance, client-centric digital solutions, and rigorous risk management, BIDV has shown exceptional capability in safeguarding assets, driving innovation, and supporting Vietnam’s financial market growth.
