Monaco recognised for sustained leadership of Bank of America’s Global Payments Solutions franchise and contribution to transaction banking Bank of America facilitated more than $450 trillion in corporate payments in 2025, with CashPro serving more than 35,000 corporate and commercial clients globally Under Monaco’s leadership, the franchise continues to invest in real-time payments, digital platforms and artificial intelligence to meet increasingly complex client needs Miami, United States, 30 September 2026 – Mark Monaco, head of Global Payments Solutions at Bank of America, received the Global Transaction Finance Leader of the Year 2026 award during Sibos in Miami. Sibos is the annual conference, exhibition and networking event organised by Swift for the financial services industry. The International Council of Advisors of TAB Global recognised Monaco for his leadership of one of the world’s leading payments franchises and his contribution to the continued development of transaction banking. “I don’t feel that this is an individual award. I feel it is reflective of the great work that my teammates at Global Payments Solutions at Bank of America have done, not only over the past year, but over the past many years, in service of our clients,” Monaco said. Developing the global payments franchise Monaco’s career in financial services spans more than 30 years across investment banking, private equity and payments. At Bank of America, he has led Global Payments Solutions as the business has continued to develop its payments, treasury management and working-capital capabilities for corporate and institutional clients. The scale of the franchise is significant. Bank of America facilitated more than $450 trillion in payments for corporate clients in 2025, while its CashPro digital banking platform is used by more than 35,000 corporate and commercial clients globally. Investing in real-time payments and new technology Under Monaco’s leadership, the franchise has continued to invest in real-time payments, digital platforms and new technology to address increasingly complex treasury requirements. In 2026, Bank of America announced a cross-border real-time payments solution connecting existing payment channels with domestic real-time networks in multiple markets. In September, Bradesco completed the first pilot transaction using the solution, with a payment delivered in Hong Kong dollars through Hong Kong’s Faster Payment System. “Asia is an incredibly important region for Bank of America. We’re going to continue to invest in the region,” Monaco added. Monaco has also championed the application of artificial intelligence within transaction banking. Bank of America launched AskGPS in 2025, an in-house generative artificial intelligence assistant trained on more than 3,200 internal documents and presentations to give Global Payments Solutions employees faster access to product knowledge and support more responsive client advice. His leadership reflects the continuing transformation of transaction banking, combining the scale and resilience required to move money globally with investment in real-time payments, digital platforms and artificial intelligence, while applying these capabilities to increasingly complex client needs. He sees technology as a way to support human judgement and give bankers more time to advise clients, build relationships and develop new solutions.
