Best CEO and Managed Bank Awards – Cambodia

Raymond Sia Say Guan, CEO and Executive Board Director of Canadia Bank has successfully fortified the bank to become a dominant player in Cambodia’s financial services industry. The bank has focused on SME and consumer business segments, the critical sectors to the emerging economy of the country, in addition to its dominance in the corporate sector.

As of December 2021, the Canadia Bank’s asset portfolio comprises 60% corporate, 21% consumer and 19% SME loans. Sia has set the goal of increasing the SME and consumer segment contribution over the next three years to 25% each.

Under his leadership, the bank’s balance sheet remains strong with total asset growth of over 8% in 2021. Net profit also rebounded and grew by 4.5% to reach $128 million in 2021. With the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, he remobilised the team to ensure customer service was not compromised.

Sia strongly believes “people” are the most important assets of any organisation and digital transformation is not only about meeting customer needs but reskilling employees for future competencies. He has led the bank on ensuring staff are well-trained based on the latest technology trends.

Under his leadership, Canadia Bank is also recognised as the Best Managed Bank in Cambodia.  

The CEO Leadership Achievement for Cambodia Award goes to CEO and Executive Board Director of Canadia Bank, Raymond Sia Say Guan.
